Acoustics are a crucial part of giving both performers and the audience a dynamic and intimate stage experience.

Low background noise levels ensure no unwanted distractions to a performance by unwanted sounds. Seating layout dictates not only whether the audience can see the performance, but hear it clearly through having direct line of sight of the performers. A balanced combination of room geometry design and placement of both sound absorbing and reflective finishes create an ideal environment which reinforce the quality of the sound. All these elements add to the sensory experience of a theatre performance so that the audience feels immersed in the production.

SCLA’s expertise in acoustics enables us to incorporate this aspect early into the design so that it complements the other planning and design elements without compromise.
